Solem is an affordable, easy to use and powerful irrigation computer that is mainly suitable for outdoor cultivation. The Solem irrigation computer is a modular system that can be expanded to control up to 360 valves and 30 pumps. The Solem irrigation computer is operated via an easy-to-use app on a telephone or tablet or via a computer.
Due to the modularity of the Solem irrigation computer, a base station is not necessarily required and an irrigation program can be made via a bluetooth connection on each module.
By linking several modules with each other via a base station (gateway), modules can be controlled at different locations via one central program, which can be set on the gateway via the app or on the computer. Valves are controlled wirelessly up to a distance of 850 meters.
In addition to controlling valves, the Solem irrigation computer can also read various sensors:
- Wind speed
- Flow measurement (liter counters)
Below you will find the different modules of the Solem irrigation computer
The Solem Gateway is a base station to which various modules can be linked and acts as the brain of the irrigation system
By means of LoRa technology, the gateway can wirelessly control modules up to 850m away. The gateway is connected to the internet by means of WiFi or via a 4G router and can be operated from anywhere in the world via the app and via the computer.
Features of the Solem Gateway:
- Fully controllable via Bluetooth or Internet
- Can connect with 30 modules up to 850m away
- Control up to 360 valves
- Can control up to 30 pumps
- Can be connected directly to the internet via an existing WiFi network or via a 4G modem.
- Low in power consumption ~ 6W, 12V
The Solem battery valve module can control 1, 2, 4 or 6 valves (depending on the type) and control a main valve or pump. Each battery valve module can be connected to a gateway via LoRa and thus reached via the internet via the app or via the computer. The module can also operate stand-alone but has to be programmed through a bluetooth connection via the app on a phone.
The valve module is also equipped with a dry contact which can interrupt irrigation. For example, a rain sensor can be connected to the dry contact to prevent irrigation when it rains.
The valve module is equipped with a 9VDC battery. We recommend replacing it every year.
The Solem Battery Valve + Flow module is comparable to the Valve module and can, depending on the type, control 1, 2, 4 or 6 valves and, in addition, control a main tap or pump and read a flow meter or rain sensor. Each Battery Valve+ Flow module can be connected to a gateway via LoRa and thus be reached via the internet via the app or via the computer. The Valve+ Flow module can also be used independently without a gateway. However, in that situation the module cannot be operated via the internet, but only via the app on the phone within Bluetooth range.
The Valve+ Flow module is equipped with a sensor contact to which a flow meter can be connected. This allows flow monitoring and the program to be interrupted or a notification can be sent if, for example, too much water is flowing (if there is a leak in the system) or if the daily maximum volume of water has been reached.
The Valve+ Flow module is equipped with a 9VDC battery. We recommend replacing it every year.
