Seed potatoes

Seed potatoes are grown differently from potatoes for consumption. For seed potato cultivation, a drip tape is placed in the middle of the ridge. Since every ridge has its own drip tape , an ideal microclimate is created in the ridge. The microclimate enables the seed potato to form multiple stolons from which potatoes grow.

Placing drip tapes is often done simultaneously when forming the ridge, this removes the need for another tractor inserting the drip tapes. After the cultivation, the drip tapes are pulled from the ridges and, depending on the type of drip tape, reused.
